What it means for shoppers
- Most listings are fixed-rate. Variable plans are a small share, and the fixed, variable, time-of-use and prepaid guide explains how they differ.
- Four in five are for new customers only. If you are renewing with your current provider, many of the listed prices may not be open to you.
- Compare on your own usage. A plan with a bill credit or minimum-usage fee can look cheaper or dearer depending on how much you use. Our Oncor comparison and the other utility pages rank plans by estimated annual cost, and how we rank explains the method.
