It is printed on your bill as the TDU or TDSP — the company you call for outages. Dallas–Fort Worth is mostly Oncor, Houston is CenterPoint, Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley are AEP Texas Central. Austin and San Antonio have city utilities and no plan choice.
Why is a plan that is cheapest at 1,000 kWh not first?
Many of those plans give a bill credit only at 1,000 kWh or more. In months below the threshold the credit disappears. We price each month separately, so a plan that loses its credit in spring and fall can cost more over the year.
Are taxes included?
No. Prices include the utility's delivery charges as listed on PowerToChoose; sales tax and city fees vary by address and add a few percent to every plan alike.
