Change in ¢/kWh to the energy charge of your best-ranked plan in each utility; the 1,000 kWh average price moves by the same amount (new price after “=”). All else equal: other plans unchanged. We count a place as reached only when the new 12-month cost is at least $1 below the plan now in that place. Steps of 0.1¢.

How we keep the data accurate

Known limits. Text extracted automatically from EFL PDFs can drop or double letters, so a quoted line may look slightly different from the PDF. Rank is our estimate of the 12-month cost at 1,000 kWh/month average with our default ranking — not Power to Choose’s order. Costs are before taxes and local fees.

If an alert was wrong because of our error, tell us — we correct it within one business day. Every item has a “Report an error” link.

Notes on the numbers

TexasHomeBills™ is an independent information service, not a retail electric provider or broker. Provider Report emails are transactional: only the alerts and reports you turn on.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the Provider Report for?

Retail electric providers (REPs), brokers and consultants who want to know each morning how their Power to Choose listings compare with their own EFLs, where their plans rank, and what competitors changed.

What does it cost?

$299 per month, or $2,990 per year (two months free). New subscribers get a 7-day free trial; cancel any time.

Where does the data come from?

Only public sources: the Power to Choose plan list (imported every morning at about 06:15 Central), each plan’s EFL read by our rule-based reader, PUCT delivery-charge reports, news releases and rule changes. Nothing in the report is private except your own watch list.

When do the emails arrive?

The daily alert goes out at the hour you choose (Central time), after the morning import and EFL check, and only when something on your watch list changed. The weekly report arrives on Monday morning with a PDF attached. You can turn either off at any time.

How is “differs from its EFL” decided?

A listing is counted only when our reader confirms the EFL’s own printed figures and they differ from the listing by more than rounding (price), or every term or fee statement on the EFL gives one value that differs from the listing. Unclear cases are never listed. We do not judge why a listing differs.

How far back does the history go?

Daily records start on Oct 9, 2026. Day-to-day comparisons need two recorded days; trend charts appear after seven.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. First-time subscribers get a 7-day free trial, then $299/month. Cancel any time before it ends and you won’t be charged. One trial per account; there are no discount codes.

Can I cancel?

Cancel any time from your account page; access continues to the end of the paid period; no partial refunds. If an alert was wrong because of our error, we correct it within one business day.
